Riverside Summer Festival Returns June 14 — Free Concerts, Food Trucks & Fireworks at Fairmount Park
The City of Riverside has announced the return of its beloved annual Summer Festival at Fairmount Park on Saturday, June 14, 2026. The free all-day event runs from noon to 10 p.m. and features live music on two stages, a food truck village with more than 30 vendors, a kids zone with inflatables and games, and a fireworks finale at 9 p.m. Organizers expect over 25,000 attendees. Parking will be available at Riverside Community College with free shuttle service to the park.
Citywide Neighborhood Cleanup Day Set for June 7 — Volunteers Needed Across All Districts
The City of Riverside is calling on residents to sign up for its annual Neighborhood Cleanup Day on Saturday, June 7, 2026. Volunteers will fan out across all city districts to remove graffiti, clear illegal dumping sites, plant trees, and beautify parks and medians. The city will provide all supplies, gloves, and bags. The Riverside Food Bank received a record-breaking 80,000 pounds of food donations in May 2026, its highest single-month total ever. A city-wide food drive and new partnerships with Stater Bros. and Costco fueled the surge. The Riverside Public Library system has opened registration for its 2026 Summer Reading Program, running June 1 through August 15 at all branch locations. Participants who hit their reading goals earn prizes at every milestone, and one grand prize winner will receive a $500 gift card to local Riverside businesses. New Wood Streets Community Garden Fully Booked — Second Location Planned for Eastside
The new 30-plot community garden on Magnolia Avenue in the historic Wood Streets neighborhood filled all available plots within 72 hours of opening. The overwhelming demand has prompted the city to announce a second community garden location in the Eastside neighborhood, expected to open by fall 2026 with 40 plots. The Riverside Senior Center has announced a major expansion of its programming for summer 2026, adding daily fitness classes, weekly technology help sessions, and a new social events calendar. The expansion is funded by a $280,000 grant from the California Department of Aging. New offerings include yoga, pickleball, smartphone basics workshops, and a monthly movie night. Downtown Arts Walk Returns June 20 — 70+ Artists, Live Performances, Free to Attend
The Riverside Downtown Arts Walk is back on Friday, June 20, 2026, taking over the arts district from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. This year's event features more than 70 local artists displaying and selling original work along Main Street and University Avenue, plus live musical performances on three stages and pop-up food vendors throughout the district. The event is free and open to all ages. Street parking is free after 6 p.m.
